If you use ORB to watch your home TVs like I do than most likely you have already found out it does not working after you move to iPhone 4.
In iPhone4, ORB will works fine in WiFi connection but in the 3G network the picture and audio comes on for about 20-40 seconds then Orb shuts off the stream and goes back to the channel selection screen.
Here is what you need to do to fix it.
Open the file iphone3.0_3G.xml with a regular text editor and
Change: <needLowBitrateStream>1</needLowBitrateStream> to <needLowBitrateStream>0</needLowBitrateStream>
On some Release of ORB server this value can be as high as 3, just set it to zero.
While you have the file open you may also want to change: <bitrate>200000</bitrate> to <forcebitrate>100000</forcebitrate>. This is not needed to solve the problem but will help because AT&T 3G networks speed is usually lower than what they publish.
If your ORB serve is running on XP the file is in the directory: “c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\orb networks\streamprofiles\”
For Vista or Windows 7 you can find the file at: “c:\ProgramData\OrbNetworks\StreamProfiles\”. You will need to run your editor as “administrator” in order to edit the file in Windows 7 and Vista.
Also you will need to restart ORB after the change got it to take effect.
It will also help if you open the ORB iPhone client and “Streams Optimized For” value to the lower end of the “3G” and above “EDGE”. You can find the setting under "Settings/connection” menu tab.
Yes it is kind of annoying, but ORB is more or less free and it beats downloading the movies and TV show into iPhone through iTune.
Thanks VERY much. That seems to have helped Orb to display my web cams on Windows 7 and iPhone4.
