- Truecrypt, The best encryption software around. It is fast, easy to use for normal user but deep enough for geek like myself. It is a must have especially if you use USB drive or laptop.
- 7-zip, Usually the 2nd or 3rd piece of software I put on a new machine. I tried a lot of commercial and free archiving software but eventually come back to this one.
- MP3Tag, Powerful MP3 file tag editing software.
- Unlocker, this is not as well know as others but very useful. Have you ever run into errors lie: “Cannot delete file: Access is denied”, “The file is in use by another program or user.”, “Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.” … etc.? This program will safely remove any locking handle that any application or process maintains on a file so you can delete or change it.
- Bulk Rename Utility, another less well known but very useful utility. It allows you to easily rename files and entire folders based upon extremely flexible criteria without writing your own script.
- Notepad++, honestly the best free text editor.
- KeePass, open source, light-weight and easy-to-use password manager.
- The Combine Community Codec Pack, Real Alternative and Media Player Classic. These 3 packages really works together to give you the best video watching experience on a PC, especially if you watch a lot of Anime. Media Player Classic is already part of the CCCP package.
- CCleaner, I like it! Use it every day.
- Malwarebytes, one of the best and effective tool to remove malicious software.
